Emergency Dentist in Saskatoon

If you have severe tooth pain, swelling, a broken tooth or a dental injury, call NEESH Dental at 306-665-8414. We will ask what happened, assess how urgently you should be seen and arrange the earliest appropriate appointment available.

New patients and walk-ins are welcome. Calling before coming is strongly recommended because same-day appointments and treatment depend on urgency, the treatment required and availability.
Do not use the online form for an urgent or worsening problem. Please call.

Go to the Hospital or Call 911

Seek emergency medical care immediately if you have:

  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Rapidly increasing swelling involving the face or neck
  • Heavy bleeding that does not stop with firm pressure
  • Serious facial or jaw trauma
  • Loss of consciousness or another significant head injury

A dental office is not a substitute for hospital care when breathing, swallowing, major bleeding or serious trauma is involved.

Before You Arrive

Knocked-out permanent tooth

Hold it by the crown, rinse it gently without scrubbing and keep it moist in milk if it cannot be safely placed back into position. Do not replant a baby tooth.

Broken tooth or swelling

Rinse gently, use a cold compress outside the face and avoid chewing on the affected side. Do not place aspirin on the tooth or apply heat to swelling.

Lost filling or crown

Keep the restoration and bring it with you. Do not use household glue.

What to Expect

The dentist will perform a focused emergency examination and may recommend X-rays. We will explain the likely problem, treatment options and expected cost before treatment whenever the situation permits.
Depending on the examination and time available, care may include a filling, repair of a broken tooth, crown recementation, extraction, root canal treatment, stabilization of an injured tooth, medication when clinically indicated, or referral. Some conditions require temporary treatment and a follow-up visit.

Children’s Dental Emergencies

Call the same day if a child has loosened, displaced, chipped or knocked out a tooth, or has injured the mouth or jaw. Treatment depends on the injury, the child’s needs and the child’s ability to cooperate. We will arrange an appropriate referral if another setting is better suited to the child’s care.
