Here’s an odd story from a few months ago set at regina International Airport.

A Saskatchewan man made an attempt to bring back a set of spare teeth from his trip to Australia. Canada Border Services were forced to seize the teeth as they originally belonged to an endangered species… specifically a freshwater sawfish. This sawfish’s teeth snout is called a rostrum.

This sawfish rostrum measured two feet long and has a row of sharp teeth sticking straight out on both sides. Freshwater sawfish are listed as endangered species in Australia and are to be dealt with under international trade acts.

Canada Border Services, at time of press, had no idea what the man intended on actually doing with his prize.

I’m quite sure the teeth would be better off still adoring the poor sawfish concerned 🙁
